Neil: Premier League is the priority

Norwich boss, Alex Neil, has admitted his priority is staying in the Premier League this season and not progressing in the FA Cup.

However, Neil has also confirmed that he will put out a team he believes is capable of progressing to the next round.

The Premier League is the most important thing for us. We would like a run in the cup, we want to do well in the FA Cup but the priority will be the Premier League.

Neil confirmed via Norwich’s official Twitter account that Tony Andreu had returned from a recent loan spell at Rotherham and would be in the squad tomorrow.

The Scotsman also ruled out new signing Ivo Pinto playing any part against Manchester City despite being registered in time as he had only had one training session with his new team.

The Canaries come up against Manchester City for the first time since losing to a last-gasp Yaya Toure penalty that stole a 2-1 victory at the Etihad in October.

The game comes at a difficult time for Man City having played one leg of their Capital One Cup semi-final against Everton in mid-week and this tie is sandwiched between another game against Everton but this time in the league.

This means that Norwich could come up against a weakened Man City team that have only won once in their last seven away games in all competitions and Norwich fans will be hoping that their side will be able to spring a shock.
